20th
Annual Vintage Racing Celebration
Tuesday, May 18 - Thursday, May 20, 2010
Motorsports
history will come alive as legendary racing machines from around
the world gather to compete at the Twentieth Annual Vintage Racing
Celebration at NHMS. This year's Grand Marshal is legendary NASCAR
star, Bobby Allison.
On Tuesday,
May 18 through Thursday, May 20, many of the most famous Midgets,
Sprint Cars, Champ Cars, Roadsters, and NASCAR stock cars will
fill the speedway's 1.058 mile oval. Fans will have the opportunity
to meet and talk with the drivers and car owners who wrote early
racing history.
From Friday,
May 21 to Sunday, May 23, the 1.6 mile road course at NHMS will
challenge veteran competitors from the world of road racing. The
action will be friendly, but fierce as these vintage sports cars,
formula cars, and motorcycles compete for bragging rights.
Join us on
Saturday, May 22 and Sunday, May 23 for the Classic and Custom
Car Show along with the NHMS Automotive Flea Market. If you love
cars, this is the event for you!
Tickets, which
include infield admission, are $10 per day or $25 for the entire
event. Children age 11 and under are admitted free. Tickets will
be available at the Speedway Main Gate each day of the show. Gates
will open every day at 9:00 a.m.

A
VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU GOES OUT TO OUR PAST DOOR PRIZE CONTRIBUTORS
AND EVERYONE WHO WORKS SO HARD TO SECURE THESE CONTRIBUTIONS.
THANK YOU.
Vintage
Celebration ("Vic Yerardi Memorial") is the largest
on track Vintage oval race car event in the US.
Eligible
Vintage cars include: Midget, Sprints, Champ cars, Indy cars and
Stock cars
The
event was the brainchild of Bob
Bahre, the former track owner, and the late Vic Yerardi, a
huge supporter of the Vintage Car movement.
The
event name was changed after Vic Yerardi, (photo

(photo 3), passed
away in 1991. It is now known as the "Vic Yerardi Memorial".

Cars
travel from as far away as California and Florida to participate
in the event.
Car
count has been averaging 175.
We are committed to increasing that count to over 200
for 2010.

about this very special one of a kind event. If you have any questions,
comments or concerns names, emails address and phone numbers can
be found in the "Contact Info"

This
is definitely the largest gathering of Vintage Open Wheel Race
Cars in the country.
Curious
what an Offy sounds like at speed?
Curious what 5-10 Offys at speed sound like?
Curious what a Champ car sounds
like at speed?
Come
out and experience with us what has been one of the best kept
secrets. Expect to be impressed by the facility, by the people
and by the CARS!
Each
year a Grand Marshall is named for the celebration. In past years,
notables like Roger Ward,
A.J. Watson,
Buster Werke, Ron
Bouchard, Ken Squier
& Arlen Curtis were honored. For 2010 it will be Bobby Allison.
We
look forward to seeing you there in 2010!
